I'm referring to the first chapter of the O'Reilly"s book. I would like to know from where I can download the JBoss exe installer?

Have you tried jboss.org? That's the non-commercial one.

Im not sure, that do they have a .exe version. Anyway you can download jboss4.2.3GA in here http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=22866&package_id=16942&release_id=614346 But it is not a installer, you have to extract and execute run.sh (or run.bat)

JBoss does not have a .exe installation. The download contains a zip file. The installation is as simple as unzipping it on to your local system.
