Or Sun sponsored NetBean?

No, UML diagrams are just pictures. We can use anything to draw UML diagrams, I think even paper and pencil is OK.

You can use any tool you like.

SCJA 1.0, SCJP 1.4, SCWCD 1.4, SCBCD 1.3, SCJP 5.0, SCEA 5, SCBCD 5; OCUP - Fundamental, Intermediate and Advanced; IBM Certified Solution Designer - OOAD, vUML 2; SpringSource Certified Spring Professional

Anything you like. Just make sure it is placed as a picture.

Have a look at other tools like JUDE, BO UML, Myeclipse UML etc etc. There are so many out there

If you are planning to submit a UML 2 design I suggest you try MagicDraw Community Edition.

Otherwise, I think JUDE Community offers a very clean and simple interface.

Hope this helps.

StarUML(sourceforget.net) , Visio, IBM Rational, MyEclipse UML are some of the UML tools that can help you to some extent.

Hi Wang,

Im also using enterprise architect 6.5, Im nearly done with my J2EE 1.4 assignment, but when I saved (used Save as Image option) the PayForItineray sequence diagram it came out to be 400KB after zip.

The instructions say the project should not be more than 1000KB else there will be problems uploading the assignment. Let me know if there is some other option in Enterprise architect which should be used for saving / exporting UML disgrams?

Try changing the file format after the export is complete. You can also request sun to make an exception in your case (its been done before) so that you can email the solution to them instead of uploading it.

Just in case you didnt notice, this thread is about 3 months old.

Good luck

Thanks Bala, I am compiling the final html and removing any unrequired images. If the final upload goes over 1000K then its a good idea to request SUN for special righs to email them.

And yes I did not notice that this post was 3 months old thanks for looking at this post and replying.

Sorry for the late reply. There's a community edition which you can use for non-commercial purposes but there's a limit to the number of objects you can create (25).

I ended up creating two separate files just to complete the assignment. But I really found it very user friendly compared to the others I've evaluated (Star UML and Visual Paradigm).

I'm using Visual Paradign, this tool put watermarks over pictures.
Watermarked diagrams are accepted?

Thanks

Save to PNG format, don't use JPG, that should be fine.
