I am working class diagram and Component diagram on SCEA Part II. I am new user for UML tool. When I am working those diagram in UML tool, do I need to put classes or component in the corresponding tiers (Presentation (for example *.jsp), Web -- controller, Business -- EJB, etc) to do structure and then draw class diagram or different diagram.

For example, Component diagram -- Order.

1. *.jsp
2. *.controller
3. *.EJB

then draw Order component diagram.

Or just put all component under Order component diagram. I personally think that I need to do structure.

Thanks,

Do as you see it's fit, it is you who will be an architect.

If you follow suggestions from others, who is actually an architect?

SCJA 1.0, SCJP 1.4, SCWCD 1.4, SCBCD 1.3, SCJP 5.0, SCEA 5, SCBCD 5; OCUP - Fundamental, Intermediate and Advanced; IBM Certified Solution Designer - OOAD, vUML 2; SpringSource Certified Spring Professional

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
