I failed the SCWCD exam by 1%. I got 69%.

I have over 4.5 +years exposure to Java. Currently. The last time I had exposure to Web components was over 2.5 years back and that was on struts. After that I have mostly worked on the Java Application.

My coupon was to expire on 11/30.I could not get time earlier because of project priorities.
Since I had no preparation , and in the last week, therefore I decided to take 4 days off before the exam and put the project on back seat.I gave the exam on 11/29 (Sat).

Time prepared - 4 days (8-9 hrs /day)
Books - HFSJ - 1st edition
By the end of the 4th day , I had read all the chapters except - half of the tag lib , the complete chapter on custom tag lib and the complete chapter on filters - I left out these chapters.
I was bored out by the end of 4th day and had No intention of studying any further.

I could not attempt any mock exam , not even the one in Head first book for lack of time.

I made a lot of guessing on the exam and got Plain Lucky to even get 69% .

I found HFSJ a good book and the concepts were clear.

Moving forward , My action plan is to -
->devote 2 hrs/day for the next 10-15 days revising the topics and studying topics what I had skipped earlier.
-> Attempt some mock tests

I am targetting to give the re-attempt before Christmas.

Hi Ank,

All the best for your preparation. I can see your confidence and I'm sure you will win next time.

It's sad that you missed by just 1%. Anyways leave the past behind and just go for the exam after you are prepared. Since you got 69% without preparing, so you will get above 90% when you are well prepared...

Oh, you almost passed...

It is sad when this kind of thing happens, but if you practice more, studying more mocks, you will pass next time!

Good luck!

try to find out weak area and improve on that
don't be nervous you will be definitely clear the exam with good marks
try to solve as many mocks as possible and do a lot of practice on code
Best of Luck
