Here's the problem. I was messing around trying to install ActivePerl and when I tried rebooting I couldn't log in again. I can telnet to the machine and ftp to it but when entering a valid username and password it just blinks and reprompts for username and password. Any idea of what's going on?

Maybe you have Caps Lock on?

You can login via Telnet? Then try to change the password of a known user while you're logged in via Telnet (with the passwd command) and try to log in again.

Checked caps lock. Already was logged in by telnetting. What I didn't check and what ended up being the problem was one of the directories was 100% used up. Cleaned it up and had no problem logging in. Thanks for the reply though.
