it's telling attribute name invalid according to TLD.........

Can you elaborate your query by exposing the full jsp? As of now i feel instead of com.myapp.struts.loginForm give the type attribute as com.myapp.struts.LoginForm.

If you are using <html:form>
then there is no need of name & type attributes, these attributes are to be specified in struts-congif.xml in form-bean tag.
