Me and my wife are considering various options for weight reduction. Is butterfly abs safe - esp since my wife had a c-section this jan. How effective is it, if anybody has used this?

Also plz let me know where to order. I am in S'pore.

TIA

Try to have a fast walk for 30 min a day for a week and see result yourself.

Nope but once I used that Vibrating Belt, I think these products which you buy from tele-shopping are all rubbish.

True...but butterfly abs is manufactured by other companies also, I think. Of course the safest and surest way is go about doing exercises regularly. But was just trying to gather info abt these products.

Eat right and burn more fuel than you are taking in.
Your abs will strengthen themselves (proportionally with your excercise) if you are excercising right.

If you're stuck on having nice abs, there are PLENTY of free excercises online that you can do without machines that you waste your money on.

*note: my brother is a personal trainer at a gym, is the size of a small house, and has shown me hundreds of excercises that require no machines and work quite well.

FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND...

Ab macines aren't designed for weight loss (regardless of what the advertisements say). They help you build and strengthen muscle, which in turn helps you burn more calories.

However it will be a while before you see much of a weight difference from the additional muscle. And that assumes that you don't compensate for your additional calorie-burning capability by increasing your calorie intake.

Your better bet for losing weight is to monitor your calories and fat and do aerobic exercise. Play tennis, go running, go swimming. Basketball and soccer are better than (American)football or baseball for an aerobic workout.

If you listen to various diet gurus, there are ways to "trick" your body into holding onto less fat. Those sound like they work, but I'm no expert. Regardless of the type of diet you choose to follow, exercise and diet work together to give you weight loss.

You can try weight watchers. I tried following their points system, combining it with 30 minutes of vigorous walking 5 days a week, and was able to lose one pound per week (lost 18 pounds overall). And I have managed to keep it off now for more than 7 months. And the best thing is, I have developer wiser eating habits now!!

Muscle burns fat better than fat burns fat.
Weight training combined w/ cardio and good eating habbits is the way to go.
I wen't on the "stop eating when your full" diet and lost 20 pounds (used to clean my plate). Since I no longer lost any weight using that method, I started weight training 2x a week along with 20min 3x per week on treadmill.
I lose approximately 1 lb per week.

Check out this sight:

Cheers.

I dropped about 15 pounds by changing the way I eat and exercising only moderately. Once I levelled off, I picked up my exercise regimen and gained some weight back, but it appears to be muscle. My profile is a quite a bit thinner than it used to be, but I'm at about 180-185. Guess that makes me even more dense than I was.
