MH: now officially weights more then my wife.

Who told you this, your dog or your wife?

For most breeds that would mean:

a) Your dog may need urgent medical attention
b) Your wife may need urgent medical attention, or
c) Both your wife AND your dog need urgent medical attention!

That must be one *big* pooch!

Since we're talkin' dogs here.... here's a pic of my boy before his legs got longer than mine. My two year old nephew is obsessed with Milo, so for his birthday, I'm making him a huge stuffed dog out of faux fur... it will be bigger than the real thing, and the best part is, no fleas (although it does seem to shed just as badly).

Milo looks awesome: can he go running with you? That's really the only thing I would change about Stella. I've been training for a marathon, and it's would really nice to have a dog that didn't turn into a pumpkin after 1/2 mile.

Milo is too easily distracted by just about anything to run for any length of time. I've tried.... he literally stops short to sniff or chase something every 30 feet or so. So keeping him on leash while running is not really an option. But off leash (in a remote area... no cars, no picnics), he's pretty good. Kind of does his own thing but catches up eventually.

He really is pretty funny. Loves chasing butterfly shadows, pouncing on crickets, and will swim after birds for hours at a time. His latest trick is nipping strange men on the butt to get them to play with him (he learned that trick from my brothers.... hilarious when he does it to one of them, but a bit awkward when he does it to someone I don't know).

Stella looks like a drooler.... she must still be a puppy if you're hoping for 50 more pounds??? She's going to be HUGE!!! Looks like a sweet girl, though. Dogs are great, aren't they???

She's 19 months now, so yeah, she'll get bigger. Not so much with the drool either, though I'm told they grow into that. She's very sweet. Kinda dumb, but really sweet :-D.

As for being great: you know, 20 months ago, I would have told you that I was a cat person. Now, I'll wake in the middle of the night just to play with her. Weird, huh?

I have always wondered what dog owners do with their dogs when they go to work for the day? I mean, they must get bored alone inside and I have never seen a dog litter tray

Can anyone fill me in?

Same here! I was always a cat person 'til my hubby got me a little black lab puppy for Christmas. Now my own daughter is jealous of the dog, and to some extent, rightly so!

Rick... excellent question. I work from home and have a dog door, so my dog comes and goes as he pleases. However, on the rare occasions where I am gone all day, I get to come home to scenes like this:

Actually, Saint's have a really slow metabolism, so they sleep all day.
this is pretty much her whole life.

Is this thread "dogs only"? Well, then there is cat's story.

My cat lives in Russia, with my parents. Yesterday Mom e-mailed that he now drinks water only from big buckets, and boycotts all unhuge dishes. "And we have water meter -- you know". I think, he decided he is a tiger. And tigers could care less about water meters.

Molly and Milo are seriously cute! While we are it, here's mine:

Sadly, she is not going to be with me for long now! We are not getting enough time from work/commute to mind her; she is going back to her previous owners. (We rescued her off them, but their situation has changed since and they can now accommodate her). I am sure I will miss her waking me up every morning with kisses and nudges!

Interested in big dogs now so went hunting for them online. Apparently the English Mastiff is the biggest dog.

Found this pic - re-arrange this popular phrase to find the caption - "dog owner walks dog"

Wow Max.. is that a big dog or a small horse!

My wife and I are counting the days until we can get a dog (and a cat  ). We've always lived in apartments, so no pets yet. We were thinking about a yellow lab... Larger dog - but probably wont ever outweigh either one of us! Plus we hear they are good with kids, which is important since we have two crumb creators age 3 and under!
