Hi all,
I want to generate report in .xls format cantaining records around 10,000 to 15,000 approximately. which reporting tool would be best suit for my requirement. Also want to show some chart's in the report. Please suggest some nice tools which has high performance and less resource intake.

Thanks in advance.

This should be possible with jasper reports :

http://jasperforge.org/plugins/project/project_home.php?group_id=102

there is also a designer tool for jasper :

Hi all,

I have a question regarding Excel generation using jasper report

Can we embed a macro in Excel Generation using Jasper Report. We want to embed macro so that the Excel generated using Jasper Report can have a different format than the one we used while designing.

If macro cannot be used is there any other alternative.

Could anyone please help us in this?

Have alook at jXLS (http://jxls.sourceforge.net/).

It does not really generate excel files, but provides means to fill excel templates containing special notations to control how the data is filled in.

It should be possible to hava a macro in the template.

Regards,
Uli
