have a customer issue with userid permission where they get an error when applying patches.
This is customers comment:
We suspect that our user psoftusr which starts the webserver on a port above 1024 does not have the correct permissions to start it
without getting the error
Aug 30, 2008 9:16:41 PM EDT> <Critical> <WebLogicServer> <BEA-000254>
<Cannot switch to user "psoftusr".
: Cannot initgroups("psoftusr"), system error: 'Not owner'
problem only happens once I go into the Admin Console and change the settings to enable post-Bind UID.
After I change everything back to default I no longer have any problems.
need to know what permissions would psoftusr need to have to be able to get rid of this Error message?.
psoftusr was the id used to install the software in the first place.
so far, file permissions are set correctly in the LDAP directory.
