I want to install Apache-Tomcat on my windows XP. I have downloaded zip file from http://tomcat.apache.org/download-55.cgi I have extracted files from this zip file into Program Files. Now how do I install this Apache-Tomcat ? I have used Windows Service Installer. When I download Windows Service Installer, does Apache-Tomcat get downloaded with this installer or do I still need to download zip files for Apache-Tomcat ? I got this question because size of Apache-Tomcat is 7 mb, while that of windows service installer is 9 mb. Because of the larger size of installer, I feel Apache-Tomcat software is included in the installer. Or the Apache-Tomcat software size is smaller because of it being a zip file ?
How can I check whether Apache-Tomcat is installed on my computer or not ? If I just download the software and not install it, it wont show in the services. But if this software is installed, it will show in the services. Is that the way I can check whether Apache-Tomcat is installed or not ? thanks
