I am having my break since last 3 months. Don't have anywork. Normally I took a break after each 30 min. Some are 30 min and some are 10 min.

Breaks throughout the day help revitalize me and make me more produceive. I suspect I am not the only one like this. The company I work for encourages breaks, and they have seen an increase in overall productivity. the only thing we have to be sure of is that we are not charging our clients for break times...

Break??We have two tea breaks, one in the morning and another in the afternoon. I like strolling, but in our office, taking breaks other than the two tea breaks is considered an offence. I hate this!!!We are made to work continuously, and that leads to unnecessary stress for us. [ October 26, 2005: Message edited by: Nila dhan ]

and what exactly do you do when you are taking break ? Walk around ... ? Walk around, go get coffee or tea, surf the net, some guys play hacky sack, etc... I usually average two or three breaks a day, and they are about 15 min each. (not including lunch). Sometimes I take more, sometimes I take less. Sometimes they are more than 15 minutes. My company is pretty flexible. As long as you are still meeting your goal for billable hours, they are OK with breaks. I can honestly say that the production level is MUCH higher than other jobs I have worked where they weren't as flexible. And the employees seem happier too.

We are made to work continuously, and that leads to unnecessary stress for us. Yes, that does cause stress. I don't have the time to look for links, but I seem to remember some studies in Industrial/Organizational Psychology that looked at the positive effect of breaks on work performance. I will try to find them this afternoon (maybe during a break! )
