I have been asked to teach a General Java class to include Ajax. I know, I know, before you can even begin teaching AjaxTags, for example, you need to have good fundamentals with Java SE, and Java EE with Servlets/JSP's before they can even understand a simple example. I was thinking of using the Murach Java 6 Intro, and Murach Java Servlets and JSP to get through the pre-requisite, and conclude the course with the chapter four example from Pro Java and Ajax (Apress) that has the autocomplete example (mimicking Googles search box autocomplete). This is going to be for an IS class (Not CS). What do my fellow Java Ranchers think of this idea?
