five new tin stars

It has been a long, long time since I've appointed new sheriffs. Usually, I try to do it at about the same time we get in new bartenders. But ... well ... I didn't. Twice! I'm such a slacker.

About eight months ago I put together a list and picked five ... I thought five was too many at once, and surely there were two or three that stood out above the rest. As I tried to research it more, I got distracted and forgot about it.

Well, now I've done the research, and I've decided that with this much time having passed, five is not too many.

As I look back on the history and the contributions of these five, I am embarrassed that I didn't promote them sooner. In fact, there were a couple of times I already thought I had promoted them!

Today, I hereby officially promote these fine folks to the rank of JavaRanch sheriff:

Marc Weber

Pauline McNamara

Marc Peabody

Bert Bates

Ben Souther

Y'all need to update your stuff on the contact page!

Ulf, could you update the sheriffs list please?
