abbreviation check kicks off when posting a url

I tried to post a url from Ask Tom to a post, and it's rejected by the JavaRanch Abbreviations filter. No abbreviation was used in my post.
We're sorry, but your post appears to contain abbreviations....

Post succeeds if you put it in a code block. Would be nice if the abbreviations filter ignored URL blocks too.

That sounds like a good feature. We'll put it on the list to implement in the near future. Maybe in a few weeks.
