Paul, Marilyn, others --
The Cattle Drive students are at it again. See this discussion for details.
A number of students are interested in automating the assignment log. Noone has stepped up to lead the effort, but I've got some working code that should be a reasonably medium-featured prototype within a few days.
I'd like to post my code to start the discussion going, but the code does use a number of key ideas from the OOP and Servlets assignments, so I'm looking for an official okey-dokey as to where/when/if I can post the code. (I've got about 500 lines of code right now. Prototype will be about 700-800 total, I'm guessing.)
(See how useful the Cattle Drive assignments are -- string a couple of them together and you get a working assignment log application!)
Thanks,
Mike

Noone has stepped up to lead the effort.
I think you missed this comment posted August 03, 2001 02:00 PM of mine in my original thread Micheal
Will give it time till monday for everybody to see this thread and respond. And then we will start a team. Yes a real team you apply & you might or might not get the job.
I'm closing the "application" time tonight. The Java Ranch is pretty quite during weekends. I wanted everybody a fair chance to see my thread.
As for your code I suggest that you e-mail it to every team member tommorow. Ok ?. Your code will be the starting point. All members get it and get a day to play with and then respond. I will post a list of the people here later tonight. Only the people on the list will get your first working version. I do not want people to get involved after work has been done and make us change it. I'm sorry for the one's that loose out but somewhere wee have to draw the line .
We must have a working basic production release ready for Paul within a week. (see Pauls posting in my original thread)
As for roles we will decide that once everybody has seen your code.
and THANKS for your efforts till now and sorry for being so full of s...
I do suggest we start a private forum for this project, maybe use the not so hot Cattle Drive Solutions Discussion forum for this purpose. Marilyn ?

(1) Please consider my application to the team!
(2) Tomorrow might be too soon for a general release. Can I send something on Wednesday or Thursday?

I think I'll close this thread so all the posts regarding this subject will be together in this thread

I guess I've been abducted by space aliens. So unprofessional. They tried to probe me with this tiny ad:
