NBC should have kept milking Friends for one or two more seasons. The ratings for friends were still very high for the show's last season. Amazing, how in the late 90s, NBC was one of the top networks. Now it is 4th.
I can't say that I have a favorite Friends' character. I believe that Friends was an eclectic show, composed of various characters who contributed to the show's success.
Gonna have to go with Ursula (Phoebe's porno-starring twin sister), who was also on Mad About You. My favorite Ursula trivia:
In later years, Ursula worked in the pornography industry, using her sister's first name so she was credited as Phoebe Buffay. Notably she appeared in a film called "Buffay the Vampire Layer" [6:14 The One Where Chandler Can't Cry]
On the last episode of Mad About You, it was revealed that Ursula will become the governor of New York in the near future.

Although I liked the last couple of series of Friends, it wasn't as good as the earlier series. I got the feeling that the writers were beginning to run out of things to explore with the characters. As there are only six main characters, there's only a certain number of combinations to build comedy routines around. Also after ten years they've done an lot of different themes, and it must have been hard to come up with original gags. Maybe it was good to end when they did, while still on a high, rather then carrying on for too long.

Yeah. What made it funny was the combination of the different characters, and the way they react to each other, so its hard to pick one above the others. The complete lack of humour in the spin off series "Joey" shows that the characters need each other to be at their funniest.
