iBatis question

Never used iBatis. If I have some java objects, can I use iBatis as the mapping tool to save them into database ? I have hibernate to do that before, but never used iBatis. I heard iBatis is just to map object to SQL query instead of table, that bothers me, so I want to know if I have objects can iBatis directly map (save) it into the corresponding tables (as hibernate does) ?
