Wuz wondering how many of y'all like to go on long roadtrips? The longest one I have been until now is in the US - when I moved from New Jersey to Florida. I drove all the way South I-95 thru the following states:
Delaware Maryland DC (suburbs) Virginia N Carolina S Carolina Georgia
(I think I got all states in the correct order)
In India, the longest I have done is from Madras - Tirupati - Bangalore - Trichy - Madras.
How abt u??

The longest road trip that I have taken was from Chicago to Houston via: I-90/94 to I-57 South to I-12 to I-10 to I-45.
Drove, from the north of England to Germany once. Not too far, but was in an old Land Rover, and we had to stay behind a crane, - so we all moved at about 40 mph.... Painfull. We got there then turned around, and came back.

I live in a country so small, if I drive for more than three hours in any direction, I will fall into the Atlantic ocean! So the longest I have done is about six hours on road; if it wasn't for the traffic, it should have been two and half really!

Hehe I did that one time, One sunday morning I woke up with a craving for Indian food. I drove 30 Miles and 2 and half hours in the f'ing traffic one way and an hour getting back (3 and half hours, 60 miles total and ) PLUS 18$ tolls (NJ, NY) and 10$ food. It was worth it though.

Another thing that's worth it: following the JavaRanch policy on display names. Your display name has to be a real (sounding) first name, space, last name. You can fix it here. [ December 01, 2005: Message edited by: Ernest Friedman-Hill ]
You've been away for a while, did you just get back?

I swear that's my real name (could also be pronounced as Levy but whatever). I will update the name with my first initials.

I once drove from Perth to Kalgoorlie and back to pick a friend for a New Years party (about 1300 km) and then drove to Margaret River for the weekend, about 700km more. That was over 5 days though.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply that "levi" wasn't a real-sounding name -- just that one single name wasn't enough. Unfortunately, the rule also says that the last name can't be an initial -- Levi A. doesn't work, although A. Levi would be OK. One more try, OK?

I wish!!! Ireland!
Though I once did a extra-long-weekend run, (Dublin, Galway, Ring of Kerry, Kerry, Limerick, Kerry (again) and back) and if I remember correctly its was around 700 miles in about four days.
Last month, I volunteered to drive visitors to a charity event here in Dublin and I clocked up nearly 1100 kilometers in three days!
I would love to try Route 66 at some stage in my life (in a proper luxury caravan) and another dream trip would be to drive from Dublin to South of India (across Europe, Central Asia and Indian subcontinent).
