If I were you, and if there are sufficient preparatory materials (this I doubt), I would go for 1.6.

[For real use, not SCJP] But that doesnt give you an excuse not to know the difference of 1.6 and 1.5 and older versions. These guys, especially 1.5 are very widely used now so you better know the difference.

Whatever voucher you buy will be valid for both exams.

By the way you should go for scjp6.0, there are three APIs more in scjp 6, naviagable(Map/Set), and Console.

I am not sure if i can say this....
If you have not decided which one to write, then i think you have not prepared for the exam.
So i would like to add a suggestion,i.e first prepare and then purchase the voucher...
I said so because, i have see many of them in this forum saying that ,
I have all ready purchased the voucher and my dead line is so and so... and i am not completely prepared for the test..waht to do???
Some say i have not prepared can i postpone the exam(which is possible)....
And some end up selling their vouchers to some other in this forum

And i would also suggest that its better to take up the latest.
