Hi ranchers,
I given my part III exam on 8th of dec and uploaded the assignment a night before. Today I got the following score.

Grade: P
Score: 83
The maximum number of points you could have received is 100, minimum to pass is 70.
Class Diagram (44 maximum) .......................... 36
Component Diagram (44 maximum) ...................... 35
Sequence/Colloboration Diagrams (12 maximum) ........ 12

My solution was simple and stupid. I simply followed the Mark cade's solution. My solution almost only included diagrams, i added two three lines with each diagram. Only one class diagram with about 20 classes. There was no attribute mentioned in any class. Only five to six methods mentioned in few classes. I extended the class diagram from domain model and added the stateless session beans as services to the system. Component diagrams and sequence diagrams were also very simple. i added JSPs with servlets and stateless session beans etc. I used if else conditions as well in sequence diagrams to show alternate scenarios. I was not sure how can I show the security requirements in class diagrams and component diagrams. So I havn't shown any thing about security there.

I forcefully created three four assumptions just for the sake of creating assumptions.

I don't know where I lost points in class diagram and component diagrams but still I am very happy and relaxed after recieving the score.

I passed part1 in june 2007. I started working on assignment on 2nd of December and completed on 7th of december. I spent two to three hours daily and last day I spent more than 8 hours.

I am a silent reader of java ranch and it really helped me a lot. I can say that javaranch and mark cade's book was the primary resources for solving the assignment. Used StarUML for creating the UML diagrams. Initially I used Magic Draw Community Edition and it quickly became very annoying due to its pop ups and lack to support for showing the components similar way as shown in mark cades book.

Thanks ranchers for all the great help.

Jalal
