Hi !
I have qualified scjp ver 5 ,with 81 % on 29th dec 08, thank you ranchers. It's been a good experience to have myself here.JavaRanch helped me a lot in understanding concepts more than ever.

More than certificate i am more satisfied with the knowledge i have gained because of my serious preparation for the examination and the book of kathy and bert bates' scjp book helped me a lot. it goes jovial with its description. and my favorite sentence from it is " a heap is a heap is a heap", when i read that first time, i closed the book laughed for 5 mins and then came back.

I read Kathy sierra and bert bates' scjp book almost 3 times, 3rd time i have just gone through it. everytime i read the book , i got more clarity over the things. still i have few doubts which i feel like they get clarified while i work through them in future or ofcourse...java Ranch is always there !!

now from here where should i go ! is it scjd or scwcd or any other thing, can somebody tell me whether kathy and bert's scjd book is available in the market.

ok, now i want some information. now that i have done with the exam, they have given me an Exam report and asked me to register with http://certmanager.net/sun/ website which i don't remember exactly after 10 working days . when i asked why ? the prometric centre told me that is useful. but god only knows in what way that is useful and why should i register with it.and why after 10 working days?they have given me some id number which they said will be unique and should be used whenever i further write any other certification it can be anything , it need not be sun certification in particular.

Also in score report two numbers are given 1. candidate Id and 2. Registration number ,which is the one that is unique for any further certification i do and used for any other further certifications ?

I think the SCJD book from Kathy and Bert is included as a part of the e-book that you receive with the book. If there is a separate book I don't know about that.

SCJD is a certification about desktop application development and SCWCD is a web application based exam. They are two very different streets. It depends on your interest and future goals where you want to go. If you want to go into web application development, then go for SCWCD. Otherwise you can go for SCJD.

It's completely your choice...
