This week's book giveaways are in the Refactoring and Agile forums. We're giving away four copies each of Re-engineering Legacy Software and Docker in Action and have the authors on-line! See this thread and this one for details.
I took up snowboarding a few years ago and it's my newest obsession. (I also cross-country ski, but less since the whole snowboard thing.)
I live in southeastern Michigan. Locally I'll go for a few hours after work at either Alpine Valley or Mt. Holly.
Weekends I'll go to Bristol Mountain or Holiday Valley in eastern New York. Or maybe Seven Springs in Pennsylvania. (I have relatives I can stay with in both areas.)
I manage to get to Vermont a few times a season (primarily Sugarbush).
If plans come together I *might* be at Gore (upstate New York) and/or Sugarbush between Christmas and New Year's. This January I'll spend a week at Crested Butte, Colorado. Late February, I'll probably be spending a week in Vermont and New Hampshire (most likely Okemo and Sunapee). Late March another trip is possible, but I haven't settled on a destination yet -- most likely Sugarbush or Crested Butte again.
Anyone frequent these mountains? Interested in meeting up sometime this season?
I'm good at carving on smooth runs (despite being a soft-booter). Goals for the season are to get better at riding the bumps and riding switch. I also want to get in the halfpipe again. (In general I don't really go in for the park, but I do find the halfpipe intriguing (and scary).)
Note: this thread is not a debate of skiing versus snowboarding and will be deleted if anyone tries to turn it into that.
