Merry Christmas to anyone reading my post here.

at my apartment, I have tomcat running on my desktop (XP) and I am trying to request the main page of the app from my laptop (Vista), I have map Desktop's C Drive and I can see my desktop in the network window. Anyways, it doesn't work. ("http://MYDESKTOP:8080/") and I try by typing the actual ip address with port 8080 and not working either. Is there another file I need to modify in tomcat?

Appreciate any hint or input, thanks.

Do you have a firewall on the XP machine??

If Yes, then you need to allow port 8080 to pass through in the firewall.
