For the less geeky among us, "TOS" is a Star Trek acronym for "The Original Series." Identify the episode associated with the image. Image #001:

"The Devil in the Dark," although this looks like the "remastered" version. (Note: The original "Devil in the Dark" matte painting was also used as a background in "The Gamesters of Triskelion.") [ December 08, 2008: Message edited by: marc weber ]

Nice! (The same prop -- which was made from one of the pilot communicators -- was also used by Spock in "That Which Survives." But the braid in this photo identifies this as being from "Spock's Brain.") Enterprise on the table: "Requiem for Methuselah." Here's an unusual variation on a tricorder... Well, that's Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park, used as a location in the episodes "Arena," "Friday's Child," "The Alternative Factor," and "Shore Leave" (possibly others). This angle looks like "Arena." [ December 08, 2008: Message edited by: marc weber ]

That image was blocked while I was at work, but I see it now. "Return of the Archons." Are Bear and I the only TOS geeks here? [ December 09, 2008: Message edited by: marc weber ]

"The Doomsday Machine" (very remastered version). This one's easy, but I love old behind-the-scenes shots...

"By Any Other Name" (Tough one, but there was just one episode that showed the 1701 from this angle.)

That is a tough one, and I'm not sure, but I would guess "The Alternative Factor." Is that right? (I know the original model had no detail on the port side, and also had a large support showing between the saucer and lower sections. Unfortunately, when the model was "refurbished" for the Smithsonian, this support was removed, along with some other "enhancements.")

Hmmm... My best guess is "Return to Tomorrow," when Henoch (in Spock's body) is injected with the hypo by Nurse Chapel. But I'm not sure, so I'll wait for confirmation. (Note: The tunic Spock is wearing in this photo looks like the velour used in the first and second seasons, so that rules out a third-season episode.)

You might have me stumped on this one. I could say "Amok Time," but only because I can't think of a better guess.

Ah, yes... That's Spock sensing the destruction of a starship of 400 Vulcans. But I can't remember which episode that was.

Ding ding! Correct. What was big enough to engulf a ship of 400 Vulcans? (After draining its power.) (P.S. Sorry -- didn't intend to make this one would be that tough.) [ December 12, 2008: Message edited by: Bear Bibeault ]

(And can I just say how much cooler this thread looks on my new MacBook Pro with the large, bright, glossy, LCD display? It's kind of like moving to high-def.)
