It was good. I had two long holidays (to Ethiopia and to Ladakh, India) and I've also visited my brother in the USA (he lives close to New York), and met Jeanne there, one of the other moderators of JavaRanch.

I hope 2009 will be even better. I have a big change related to work: I quit my job and I'm now starting to work as an independent software developer, a freelancer. Fortunately I have a job for the first three months of 2009 already. It's exciting and interesting to learn how having your own company works.

Great Jasper that you are now working as a Freelancer. I'm also thinking about this but I'm not experienced enough to do it right now. May be in 2010

I had a lot of learning this year. Hope it continues in 2009 as well.

I for one am happy to see 2008 leave. On my 3rd job of the year. Both my girlfriend and her dad are currently out of jobs. Have 4 other close friends who spent 6+ mos. without a job. All told, makes everyone on edge and times tough... (hey this sounds a bit like a country music song). I am definitely looking forward to 2009 :-)
