When and in which scenario does this exception gets thrown in a TimerService? I can see that the interface's mathod all throws an EJBException or IllegalStateException, but when does this IllegalStateException gets thrown?

If a session bean instance attempts to invoke a method of the Timer interface in dependency injection
methods (e.g., setSessionContext) or PostConstruct, Pre-
Destroy, PrePassivate,
PostActivate lifecycle
callback interceptor
methods in BMT or CMT, the IllegalStateException is thrown.
