Career opportunities for SCJP

When one clears the SCJP where he stands in IT career. While having no experience. Should one do more courses if yes then what.

In today's world where people are finding to keep their existing jobs, SCJP certification without any experience may not be of much help. I am talking this from Indian IT industry in mind. SCJP certification tells you know core java. But on most of the projects, core java is not sufficient. SCWCD certification and one MVC like struts, plus spring & hibernate can increase chances of getting job. In India experience matters more than the certification.

SCJP by itself guarantees only that you have good knowledge of the java programing language, it could helps you for looking to enforce a career path. But if you want to compensate certification over work experience you should go for a specialty level.
I recomend to go for SCWCD and don't overlook SCJD, it's more than just Swing, it's a *Developer* certification. ;)

You are right. I think this is true in most markets. Even if you are certified, you will be grilled at the interviews and also your contributions as a well balanced professional will be valued and recognized more.
