Staying Connected.

I work for a large insurance company. They teach and talk about risk aversion every day. Naturally they have blocked email access through SMTP, POP and WebMail accounts. They have blocked every URL that has the word "mail" in it. But I want to stay connected, and looking for creative ideas. Here are some I have come up with already -

  • Get a broadband wireless card and slip it into my laptop.
  • Get a Blackberry
  • Use my wireless phone and laptop, and subscribe for unlimited data option.
  • Buy a domain, web space and web mail option.
  • Hire an assistant, preferably a good looking female

  • Remember, I'm not breaking the rules, just bending them a bit !

    Personally I would go with the web access on your phone. You don't want to jepordize your job by trying any work around idea and getting caught.

    You could of course just, dare I say, unplug while at work and connect back to your online community when you are home. If any email is important enough that you can't wait until the end of the workday to get then that person should have called you.
