Dear All,
I understand Plugins are small pieces of code or libraries(huge chunk of code) which does some
application specific functionality.
Normally they use plugins to extend the application functionality.
Ex: Browser based plugins.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct in what plug-ins (or plugins - it can be spelled both ways) are. Don't get caught up in the size though. They can be any size.

You can read the Wikipedia Plug-In article for more information.

If you're curious about how this applies to Java software, maybe I may be so bold as to point to an article I've written on the subject: Adding Plugins to a Java Application
