Hello All

This is my first post here.
Please suggest me the following:
> good book (I did go through some posts here everyone suggests K & B !! is it enough?)
> how much time I should allot for my prep? ( I am programming in java since 1 year and can spend 5 hours per day for prep)
> When to buy the voucher? Does it expire?
> Do anyone have voucher for sale at a rebate price? Pl PM me.

Hope I will take time to actively participate in this forum and get certified.

Cheers

K&B is more than enough, no need to read 10 books, just one is enough. Do it self-test and 2 minute drills sincerely.
Since you are working on java since 1.5 years, 20-25 days is enough for you to complete this book, you should start from your weak areas, I have found Generics and Collection topics are the weakest area of most of guys here, so start from chapter 7 generics and collection, then you can go to chapter 6 it is File I/O, regex, Date, Calendar, DateFormat, NumberFormat, Regex, Scanner, Console, String, StringBuffer, StringBuilder so bit long chapter, then go for Chapter 9 Threading, Chapter 8 Inner class a small chapter, chapter 10 development than chapter 5 for exceptions, assertions, chapter 2 oops, cohesion, coupling and all.

Do these things, give first Devaka Examlab, Inquisition than master exam and some mocks from javaranchs. If you did not score near to 70% than again give all exams, than go for voucher only.

And most important thing, be very active in javaranch, this will help you the most.

You can download the Devaka Cooray's simulator here http://www.examlab.tk/

I am using it right now. It's harder than Master Exam from K&B though, but I recommend you to go through Master Exam also for you will find Generics and Thread questions that will help you gain confidence. God speed!

well, as the other friends told below, the book K&B is enough to the exame. I recommend to you the Whizlabs, is very good and more dificult that the real exam.
The master exame there are some erros in the questions, when I did my certification I did not use it because this point.

good luck!
