where do we put jsp pages in tomcat ? Do we put it in classes directory or does it go in the web directory ? In classes directory We put only compiled classes directory, so if we pu the jsp pages in web directory, will it be comiled in classes directory or how will it work ?
I read documentation but could not understand.
Please explain.

The layout of the WAR file is covered in the Application Developer's Guide. According to it, "The HTML and JSP pages, along with other files that must be visible to the client browser (such as JavaScript, stylesheet files, and images) for your application" go in the document root directory. It is common to use subdirectories to separate out functionality for larger applications.
I have Tomcat 5.5.26 installed, and when it compiles JSP's, it puts them in $CATALINA_HOME\work\Catalina\localhost\physician\org\apache\jsp
