Personally, I would start with Devaka's ExamLab, as it appears to be excellent and free (but be sure to donate for Devaka's great product, which much effort must have gone into.)
Ruben, Thanks for showing your interest of ExamLab; however providing donation is NOT MANDATORY, while this is a freeware. You CAN donate ONLY if you please.

When I try to run this program I get the following 2 error dialogs
1) Error with internal exam database. Please login as Administrator… etc…
Even though I am logged in as Administrator
2) Class not registered… etc…
I suspect these problems may be something to do with trying to run this program from behind a proxy (for access to internet)
Is there anything I can do to allow this program to run?
If you are running on Vista o/s, that is the problem. Because examlab is not supported with some Vista versions.
If you are nunning on Windows XP (or other compatible O/S), please install Microsoft JET driver, which comes with ExamLab setup.

I am running Windows 2000
I have gone through the installation of Jet Driver several times both from within the installation process of your software and manually downloading Jet Driver from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829558 I have tried re-installing your software after manually installing the Jet Driver but the error messages remain the same. These errors occur when I try to access one of the exams after I have entered my name and address.
Please let me know if you have any further advice!

For sure, the problem is with the Microsoft JET driver.
However, I've checked this on several Win2000 computers; but I didn't get any error like this.
Well,.... In that case, I don't know what is the reason exactly; it may be with the Windows service pack version or anything else.
If you really need to practice with ExamLab, please feel kind to do it with another computer. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I’ve looked at a lot of different solutions, and in my humble opinion Aspose is the way to go. Here’s the link: http://aspose.com
