Hi,

I have a JSP using JSTL. It works fine in Tomcat 6. But when I try to use it in Tomcat 5.5 ${status == 'R'} fails. status is type Character and the error says that

javax.servlet.ServletException: An exception occured trying to convert String "R" to type "java.lang.Long"

Is this a bug?

Thanks,

Javier

Hi Seetharaman,

Thanks for your answer. I checked the versions of JSP, servlet and JSTL and everything is OK (Servlet 2.4 and JSTL 1.1 using Tomcat 5.5).
The rest of the code that uses EL and JSTL works fine. Just fails when I compare Character attribute with a char constant 'R'.

Thanks,

Javier
