I am happy to see "JBOSS" itself coming up on the forum. Finally my queries will be answered.
I have faced a lot of problems with JBOSS Application Server clearly violating the EJB 3.0 Specs in many ocassions . Instead of repeating myself, I will post the links.
No harm, if i win a copy of book for these questions

Just to clarify, our book does not teach or cover Java EE or EJB3.0. We teach you how to configure, install, and deploy to JBoss 5.0 AS.

IMO, the questions you have would be best suited for the JBoss forums, where the developers of the product can view them. Better yet, if you found violations of the spec, you should open JIRA issues against the product so that the developers can address them.

Also the EJB3 support provided in 4.2.x was not fully EJB3 spec compliant. Not until 5.0.0.GA was JBoss AS fully spec compliant.

Deepak,

As Peter suggested, i would recommend you try those scenarios first on JBossAS5.0 GA and see if it works. I haven't gone through all those 14 instances that you posted. But as Reza (in those threads) and Javid mentioned, if you still run into issues, please create a JIRA here with the details.

Yes, i wanted to try them in JBOSS 5.0, JBOSS A S never started correctly and failed repeatedly.

I have run JBoss AS 5.0 on

64-bit: Kubuntu 8.04, Vista Ultimate
32-bit: Windows XP, Fedora 9, Fedora 10, Vista Home Premium, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Ubuntu 8.10, Kubuntu 8.0.4

Other than one issue where my hosts file has an invalid IP address, I have not run into a problem starting it.

Care to share your configuration and the console log?
