how long have you been wait now ?

SCJP 5.0, SCWCD 1.4, SCBCD 5.0, SCEA 5.0, OCP:AD "there is no traffic in the extra mile..."

given my essay exam on 3rd jan after submitting assignment on 29th dec

it will come, you need to give them a little more time to post your exam result status...
though they will not contact you via email as it use to be in the past with SCEA previous exam.
you need to keep checking the CERT database on Sun Cert manager and for result (though this shows only your grade "P or F", no numeric score) certmanager
