Drupal clean url issue

Hi All,

While installing drupal on sub domain i am getting the clean URL disable. i have copied drupal directory on my sub domain document root folder. i have made all changes to configure mod_rewrite (httpd.conf, .htaccess settings.php), however i am not getting clean url eneable tab.

There are multiple sub domain on server( its live server with multiple site), which having their own document root. However i can not define my own sub domain for drupal so i copied drupal directory into sub domain document path i am able to access the site by url (http://subdomain.pk.com/drupal/index.php) but not getting clean URL enable

please help to solve this issue...

Hi Prashant,

Drupal configuration can certainly be tricky (I've played with it a little myself). I personally used a tool called WAMPServer to get it all up and running for me (windows only). I can only assume you're on a *IX OS, so WAMPServer isn't going to help. I can only suggest you try Drupal specific forums, there are plenty out there.

Thanks for reply, i have also configured LAMP server on Linux and drupal is working fine on local environment ... i also configured drupal on subdomain on local environment. however its not working on live server. i think the issue is related to DNS load balancing but i am not sure.. because i can only see home page of drupal application (http://subdomain.pk.com/drupal/index.php) and all other link is giving "page not found error" . i have tried drupal forum.

Hmm, it sounds like you'll need to do a compare of your local vs hosted environment. Can your hosting company provide any assistance?
