Hi
This is Anu and I am completely new to this forum. I checked this just few hours back cause i was browsing about the SCJA certification exam. I found the answers to lot of question so clear and easy to follow that i decided to put my doubt if front of this forum.
I am basically a developer , and was doing coding for a banking product. I have 3+ years of exp in an IT firm and role was that of a Team Lead.I was involved in Software Configuration Management, Quality Assurance, Business requirement gathering, Documentation, Coding and testing. Hence i have worked on a complete project life-cycle. I am looking for a shift from these to (development+Business analysis).
Can somebody let me know if its wise to do a SCJA certification(language specific) or an UML certification to start off?
I would be grateful to you all if you could help me out with this.
Thanks and Regards
Anu Arun
PS: Completely new to OO coding.

If the SCJA exam is right for you, depends on what your goals and ambitions are.
This is what Sun says about SCJA:
This certification provides an ideal entry into an application development or a software project management career using Java technologies. It validates basic knowledge of OO concepts, the Java programming language and general knowledge of Java platforms and technologies.
If you are serious about becoming a Java software developer, then SCJP is also interesting. You might want to skip SCJA and do SCJP immediately.
