Guys,

When we make any changes to the struts.xml, the Struts 2 mechanism will detect the changes to the struts.xml file based on the timestamp of the file and apply the changes accordingly without any restart of the container necessary. But however this happens during the development mode. How does Struts differentiate between the development mode and production mode or as a matter of fact any other modes?

Via the "struts.devMode" configuration parameter/constant.
