MappedSuperClass annotation for the exam

I found that the @MappedSuper annotation is used in many books, but I didn't find it on "EJB 3 in action" book. Do we need this for the exam?

I did find it in the book you mentioned, for example on page 291.

Yes Raf, but I didn't find any example related to @MappedSuperClass annotation. Could you kindly provide me a simple example, please? It will be very much helpful for me.

Please see the JPA 1.0 specs, section 2.1.9.2. It contains detailed description and a nice example.
As a sidenote, I have just finished going through the specs (first ejb-core, then jpa) and it is a really good piece of work, everyone wanting to know this stuff would benefit greatly from it. Before this, I had read EJB3 in Action and Enterprise JavaBeans 3.0 books, but it was the specs that cleared a lot of issues for me. (I am not saying these books are bad, especially EJB3 in Action is great.. for starters).
