In our client environment, they are using JRE 1.3.So we are forced to write java code with JDK1.3.1

Can any one tell me what are the various advantages that a client can get by using JRE 1.5? and
what are the various advantages that i can get as a developer with JDK1.5. except Generics,Auto boxing,Var-args and enum?

Thanks & Regards,
Gopal.

The documentation for each JRE version includes a page about its new features, called "New Features and Enhancements" or similar. Reading those pages for Java 1.4 and Java 5 should give you a pretty good idea of what the benefits would be. You can find documentation for all JREs at http://java.sun.com/javase/reference/api.jsp
