I downloaded the 1.5.2 version of the orionserver and tried to install it as per the instructions in the Cattle Drive and I get this message (paraphrased somewhat): Can't load Main-Class attribute something or other from orion.jar Any thoughts?

Carol I installed the same version at work and got the same error Pres Brawner was getting (see this). I simply created persistence under my orion directory. If that does not solve your problem. pse post the complete error mesg if you can. Good luck [This message has been edited by Johannes de Jong (edited November 05, 2001).]

Johannes, this is the exact message I'm getting when I type this command in: C:\orion>java -jar orion.jar Failed to load Main-Class manifest attribute from orion.jar That's it. I followed the directions in the Cattle Drive, but I downloaded a more recent version of the server. Perhaps it has different requirements? Someone else mentioned a file named rt.jar that I might need to copy. Any clues?

I'm using version 1.5.2 Did you copy tools.jar from your JDK into c:\orion after you unzipped the orion1.5.2.zip file into C:\ (which created c:\orion for you in the process) ?? You do not need to copy rt.jar.

I figured out what was wrong after I deleted the orion file and unzipped it again. I created a folder named orion and unzipped the downloaded orion file into that folder. So I needed to unzip the orionserver file directly onto C. It's working now!
