Hi,
I am working on a web application. Here i am using tomcat 4.1.18 in lunux environment. I have placed my application in webapps folder of tomcat along with the context file. It is working fine . My application is an user authentication application . It allows the user to download some data. I have kept my data also inside the webapps folder and it is quite large in size. I want to place my data outside the tomcat please advice me how i can do that . I have concern regarding the working of the application in future as the data size may increase in few folds.

Thanks

Have you tried using a different directory?
The only problem I've run into is that the security policy file limits the web application to working within its directory under $TOMCAT/webapps. See the Security Manager How-To on how to change the policy file. You can also disable the security manager, though that is probably a Bad Idea.
