hey,

i'm pretty new to the EJB technology.
i read head first EJB but got stuck at the deployment section

i created the java source files and deployment descriptor, downloaded java ee + jdk + glassfish app server and installed everything

in the book they compile the 3 source files and this is where i get stuck ..
i use the compiler in the java ee directory under /jdk/bin but it wont compile cuz it cant find the javax.ejb.* imports ...
what do i do wrong ?

thanks for advice ..

Sebastian while compiling, you'll have to give the path of the Jars related to JavaEE. I would recommend that you use Ant or any IDE (at least that's what I do). I have used glassfish in the past but with an IDE. I also have Java EE installed on my system and I don't think that the jdk installed with java ee automatically takes the Java EE classes automatically. I think you'll have to include the javaee.jar in the lib folder of the java ee installation into the classpath. I was also not able to compile a normal servlet directly without including the javaee.jar in the classpath. If you can compile normal servlets, then I may be wrong and the problem could be something else...
