hello brothers,

i want to know whether we can access already running application from servlet ?


that is one application (my own java program) will be running on the server. can i access that application through servlet ?

actually my application is that one chat server application will be running on the lan (my servlet and server chat program are on the same machine). i want to get the details from server-chat program whenever i invoke my servlet. is this possible ?

There are numerous ways that Java programs can talk to each other. Is the application already instrumented for such in any way?

hello, thank you for your reply..


what i need is get a reference to the currently running object of my server-chat program. so that i can get the current users logined

but i don't know how to get that...
i tried the following code from the servlet

ServerChat sc=new ServerFrame(); //my server chat program
sc.getClientList(); //to get the current users

but i know it wont work...?

is there any other way to get it....
