add zip or jars to classpath

I have many jar files that need to be added into classpath. I am wondering what if I zip these jar files into a .zip file and add the single .zip to classpath, does that make sense and why ? thanks

I'm not sure that would work, in fact I'm 99.99% sure that would not work
