I need to refresh a page without page loading. For that i am using the following ajax
code in a html page.

Here I am calling the intermediate.jsp, which checks the database, whether the callerstatus
is 0 0r 1.If the callerstatus is 0,Instead of closing the index.html and opens the intermediate.jsp, the page remains in index.html which displays a pause
and logout button which is given in the intermediate.jsp and if the calleridstatus is 1,the page displays the customer's details without closing the index.html.
Now the problem is ,if i want to edit the customer details displaying in the textbox,i am unable
to edit the details as the index.html is not closed makes the page to refresh.

please assist me to solve this problem.

Well we are left out in the dark how the user edits the details since your code does not show a form or anything.

Thanks for your reply.Actually the above code refreshes the Intermediate.jsp which checks the database ang if the field callerstatus in the table is 1,the page will be redirected to the servlet which displays a form regarding the customer details.I am posting the code which shows the form:

I am unable to edit the details here as the index.html is refreshing.
