I am writing a program, that needs to take an xsd file and create an empty xml template for the user to fill in. but it needs to be background in java so i can actually display it as a conceptual graph.

Question 1, are there open source/cheap projects to do this that i just couldn't find?
Question 2, is there actually a formal bnf style specification of xsd anywhere that once again i couldn't find.

really sorry mod if this is the wrong board

jaxb, seems to generate a bunch of classes for itself to use, using a command line command jxc.
This doesn't seem to meet my requirements. does anyone have any better ideas?
