I need one for my family in India. It just needs to accomodate surfing at the least and not too much more.
I am wondering if i need to take one from US or just buy with warranty in India. Any inputs are welcome. BTW the location i will be buying(if needed) will be Hyderabad.
If I am not wrong then for just surfing/entertainment purpose you can get good laptop in around 40K-60K of good companies like compaq/Lenovo etc.
True, that if ou buy from India, then if in case if there is any problem you can catch the neck of shopkeeper anytime.
And if I am not wrong then if you buy the same configuration in US then it would be cheaper than India anytime.

I disagree with RK that laptops with the same configuration would be cheaper in India than US. I just a bought a Dell Laptop for my friend which cost me around $750 here in US and the similar laptop in India(if available) would be atleast $950. Even Toshibas are cheaper in US than the ones sold in India.
