You'll get a bit of everything. If you're not sure about a topic, keep on studying. Reopen your books and make some samples.

It is impossible to give you an exact answer, since Sun provides you a set of question which is randomly selected from their database. So there MAY be about 5-15 questions on those topics.

Why are you scared about those topics? If you have any confusion you can ask them here. And do a lot of mock exams. You can understand lot of parts by doing mocks. For me, ExamLab was really helpful to me a lot.

I'll echo Treimin : It is impossible to give you an exact answer.

himanshu you can assume that you'll get equal amount of questions from each topic. With that in mind you must prepare each topic thoroughly and not rely on your strong points. Generics might be difficult to understand in the beginning but with practice, you'll be fine. As far as IO goes, don't try to memorize the API. There are not too many classes in that topic. You just need to understand which readers and writers are at a higher level of abstraction than the others. That will help you to understand, which readers and writers you can wrap with which readers and writers respectively...

Please take some time to read how to ask questions, especially this section.

Well I hope you'll also score good on the exam

Secondly my success story is very long. I prepared for SCJP for 8 months (now you know how I got 98%). I started my preparation for SCJP 1.4 with the Khalid Mughal book but the Inner classes topic just killed me. So I decimated inner classes from inside out . Then I came on ranch and realized that SCJP 1.4 was very old and there was a K&B book. Now I thought it would be bad to ask on the forum what's the full form of this K&B so I sent a private message to one of the members and he told me it is Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates book . I went to a book house for K&B 5.0 book but instead I was lucky to get the 6.0 book. But just like Inner classes, Generics beat me and I thought of giving the 1.4 exam. But everyone encouraged me to go for 6.0 and finally I mastered generics too. I didn't get any of the paid mock exams (because I could barely afford the SCJP voucher and I didn't had any credit card or paypal account to pay them and I thought sending a DD is too risky ). I did the K&B master exam, Inquisition and the diagnostic and final exam of Examlab along with a lot of free mock exams and trial versions of paid mock exams. Also I used to solve a lot of problems on this forum which gave me the confidence. And then after a lot of preparation and effort, I gave the exam and cleared it. As simple as that ...
